Mexico City’s ZMVM is the current proving ground for the Efecto Verde model of low-cost, high-impact green renewal but our aim is to extend the initiative to cities around Mexico and the world.
What’s unique about Efecto Verde is that it can be implemented anywhere, by anyone with a rooftop footprint. While the scale of the ZMVM project is vast—eventually covering 40 percent of the urban landscape of Mexico City—the Efecto Verde model can scale to suit a complete range of urban scenarios, from the expansive concrete footprints of large corporations down to the rooftops of individual homes.
